Sunday finest

For my second fashion post I thought I would show my Sunday finest. This outfit works great for church or weddings or a hot date. A good hat goes well with any outfit - in a future post I will discuss the proper ways to wear a hat as it seems many people have been confused on this in recent years. The top is a standard white collared shirt that I wore for my wedding day. I like to add a white tie with this look as the white seems to go well with white and is also a subtle touch. The vest creates a more dapper look that is certain to impress those who pride themselves in proper haberdashery.

One area where people often go wrong is over accessorizing with tie clips, cuff links and those weird colored napkins they stick in their vest or coat pocket. What is the purpose of a neatly folded napkin in a vest pocket? Cool it on the fancy napkins.

Now the thing that really makes this outfit special is the white suede shoes. I know White Suede Shoes are Freakin Awesome. These shoes come from a company called Bass which is one of my favorite fish. Although I would not recommend wearing them if you are out catching a ten pounder. I once heard a rule that you are not suppose to wear white shoes between Labor day and Memorial day so I always like to bust them out the day before Memorial day as my way of sticking it to the man. The dress socks I wear quite often are just white cotton socks. I originally stumbled upon this fashion statement when I forgot to pack dress socks for an out of town wedding. With the helping mockery of my outfit by my friends JoAnn and Mary I decided I should make this a trend so that way you can just pack socks that work for all purposes. Now fancier dress socks are still a good idea for things like weddings and job interviews, the white cotton socks are more appropriate when you want the perfect combo of comfort and style.

The last thing to mention about this outfit is that you should always take the hat off prior to entering the House of the Lord or a wedding ceremony. Another down side of this outfit is when you race home from church to throw on your fishing clothes it does take more than 10 seconds to get out of.

Sorry I did not get this blog out until after most of the memorial day sales were over. Speaking of Memorial Day, I am so thankful for the men and women who have served this great Nation to secure our Liberties. Over 1 million men and women have died fighting for this country since 1776, most of which were younger than I am today. Without their sacrifices we would not be where we are today.
Go America.
